CSL’s R&D in Switzerland opens a new office on the premises of Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area. Following the opening of the office on the Biopôle Campus in Lausanne earlier this year, this marks a pivotal milestone in strengthening its R&D network across Switzerland.
Global Biotech leader CSL officially opened its new office on the premises of the Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area on the Novartis Campus, a meeting point for biotech and healthcare trailblazers, at the beginning of November. This marks a pivotal milestone in strengthening CSL’s R&D network across Switzerland, allowing for flexible and activity-based ways of working as well as tapping into the region’s great potential for collaboration along the drug development process.
“This step is not only extending our long-standing strategic partnerships with key players in biotech located in Basel but ensuring access to the region’s talent pool and exploring further opportunities for collaboration”, says Emmanuelle Lecomte Brisset, CSL’s Head of Global Regulatory Affairs who is leading CSL’s efforts to strengthen its R&D presence in Switzerland.
The contract with the operator Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area includes 18 office desks, located on the Novartis Campus in the heart of Basel.
Christof Klöpper, CEO Basel Area Business & Innovation, is delighted about the latest addition: “We are proud that such an important life sciences company as CSL is now part of the community in the Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area. This enriches the innovation ecosystem and the biotech cluster of the Basel Area enormously.”
The Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area is part of Switzerland Innovation's network of science parks and has three sites: Allschwil, Jura and Novartis Campus in Basel. Its focus areas are biotech, medtech, digital health, health tech and industrial transformation. Residents receive access to infrastructure, a community of great minds as well as a broad set of services. There are currently about 510 people working at 74 companies and 12 research groups in the Park Basel Area, which is managed by Basel Area Business & Innovation.
CSL – with the company’s CSL Behring business unit based in Bern and CSL Vifor headquartered in Zurich – has a healthy and thriving R&D presence in Switzerland with well over 500 employees, continuously expanding its network and long-standing collaborations with renowned academic institutions and life science organizations across Switzerland and Europe to contribute to the company’s global strategic goals.
