On 22 November, a top-class jury selected the winners of the Swiss Technology Award 2018 in the three categories "Inventors", "Startups" and "Innovation Leaders". In the "Startups" category, the EPFL spin-off Lunaphore Technologies prevailed. The startup's technology from Vaud can use biomarkers to determine whether tissue samples contain cancer cells. So far, the relevant tests have taken hours; with the technology of Lunaphore, now it takes only a few minutes.
