To support our Downstream Process Development team, we are currently looking for an:

Associate Downstream Processing (80-100%)

As a member of the Downstream Process Development (DSP) team your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and performing robust and scalable purification processes for different projects by using high-end machinery such as state-of-the-art FPLC systems, micro-, depth- and tangential flow filtration systems
  • Preparing, executing and documenting DSP operations and experimental strategies according to pre-established plans, timelines, and priorities
  • Establishing and applying In-Process-Controls (IPC) to guide development and monitor the purification process (e.g. RP-HPLC, SE-HPLC, SDS-PAGE)
  • Ensuring safety and process robustness for later GMP production as well as material supply for preclinical research testing
  • Support technology transfer to contract manufacturing organizations (CMO) throughout different stages of the project
  • Evaluating, interpreting, and reporting experimental data in scientific meetings and technical reports
  • Maintaining laboratories and equipment clean and functional to assure safety and operational standards

You are an efficient and enthusiastic team player with:

  • A proactive, enthusiastic, and curious personality – you can get things done!
  • Technician, BSc., or MSc. degree in biotechnology, bioprocess engineering, food technology or a related discipline
  • Proven hands-on experience in protein purification (FPLC, TFF handling etc.)
  • Technical flair for complex instruments such as FPLCs
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in biochemistry, common laboratory methods (SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, UV measurements etc.), and Design Of Experiment approaches
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English (other additional languages are a plus)
  • For this advertised position, candidates holding a PhD cannot be considered
