Position
VFI wishes to recruit a skilled Laboratory technician or research assistant to strengthen our analytical
activities and contribute to research and development on emulsion and liposome-based adjuvants at our
laboratories in Epalinges (Lausanne), Switzerland.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform quantitative analysis of adjuvant components using HPLC/UPLC systems with UV, ELSD, CAD,
and MS detection methods.
• Assist in the research and development of vaccine adjuvant technologies, including small-scale
manufacturing and quality control (QC) analysis.
• Troubleshoot and manage the maintenance of liquid chromatography laboratory instruments.
• Develop and optimize experimental protocols through bibliographic research as needed.
• Record, analyze, and interpret experimental data, including report writing and presenting findings.
• Ensure cleanliness and order in the laboratory to promote a safe and organized working environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
• Laboratory technician CFC with experience in biotechnology, HES engineering, University Bachelor’s or
Master’s degree with laboratory experience or equivalent.
• Significant experience in using LC-MS with a strong emphasis on practical expertise.
• Previous experience with i/ analytical chemistry, including but not limited to sample preparation, HPLC
with UV, ELSD, CAD detectors, and OpenLab software or similar, ii/ physicochemical analysis: including
but not limited to dynamic light scattering, electrophoretic light scattering, light diffraction, pH
measurements, osmometry.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to work within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Excellent organization skills, autonomy and self-motivation.
• Excellent standard of both written and spoken English.
Working conditions
• The primary work place will be onsite at VFI’s Lausanne facility (Epalinges, Biopôle).
• Full-time and part-time employment will be considered.
