Research associate (100%)

As a Research Associate your responsibilities will include:

  • Working in a team focusing on one of LimmaTech’s research projects
  • Performing, analyzing and planning experiments under guidance of an experienced supervisor
  • Producing, purifying and analyzing recombinant vaccine candidates using techniques such as microbial fermentation, protein purification and protein/carbohydrate analytics
  • Experimentally optimizing expression conditions for vaccine production in E. coli to ensure product candidates with desired yields and characteristics
  • Analyzing recombinantly produced vaccine candidates (i.e., ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, SE-HPLC, colorimetric assays etc.)
  • Purifying candidate products by using techniques such as chromatography and ultrafiltration
  • Providing solutions for technical and scientific problems
  • Communicating with other team members inside and outside of the research team for optimal performance
  • Documenting data and presenting results at internal research meetings

You are an efficient and enthusiastic team player with:

  • Proactive, enthusiastic and curious personality – you can get things done!
  • M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or Microbiology from a recognized institution or an equivalent qualification
  • Proven hands-on experience and profound knowledge in protein biochemistry, analytical assay development, and bacteriology techniques
  • Additional knowledge and hands-on-experience in lab-scale microbial fermentation, and state-of-the art recombinant DNA techniques is a plus
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • For this advertised position, candidates holding a PhD cannot be considered
